Reasons to give
Find out more about why the College of Agriculture needs your support and what funding areas are a priority now:
Curriculum
The College of Agriculture educates students for productive lives that contribute to agriculture, society and the economic competitiveness of Kansas. In a time of decreasing state support for public universities and increasing tuition costs, students are more sensitive to the cost of their education. Now more than ever, we must award outstanding students with scholarships so they may actively contribute to the field of agriculture. It is increasingly important for undergraduate students to gain hands-on, real-world research experiences with faculty and graduate students. They must also have the opportunity to spend time outside the classroom participating in co-curricular activities such as competition teams, undergraduate research and international study. Graduate fellowships and assistantships continue to be an area of focus for the college. Increasing our support for these students will positively impact the amount of research and knowledge in the agriculture industry.
Faculty Enhancement
Attracting and retaining agriculture faculty members of the highest caliber is as important as attracting the best and the brightest students. Faculty members work on-and-off campus to advance scientific research and develop new knowledge and products. The knowledge they develop provides the basis to solve problems. Our faculty addresses issues facing Kansas producers, farmers, ranchers, families and communities while serving as a broad economic driver.
Facilities
Private support from our dedicated alumni and friends is more important than ever in building projects these days. New facilities, such as the feed mill, will ensure students and faculty have access to the equipment and technology that will help them meet today’s industry standards.
