K-State’s enrollment is going up, thanks in part to more scholarships and financial support for students in all types of situations — first-generation, non-traditional or online to name a few. The world needs more students like this.
Q & A
What is it like being an online student?
“I have felt so welcomed by my professors and classmates. I have classmates from all over, and it amazes me that you can be far away and still get your degree from K-State. I feel very connected.”
How have scholarships helped you reach your career goals?
“They have helped so much! This is the first semester I haven’t had to take out any loans — grants and scholarships covered my whole semester. My dream of becoming a teacher is coming true. I’m even thinking of getting my master’s degree.”
What’s your advice for someone thinking about going back to college as a non-traditional student?
“Just do it! I didn’t think I was college material, but a teacher believed in me. Then I believed in myself, working hard and never giving up. You can do it, too!”
