K-State Salina programs bring futuristic tech to reality

The Jetsons’ housekeeping robots. Star Trek’s computer-automated systems. Once the purview of science fiction, technology like this is now reality, and K-State Salina leads the way.

K-State Salina’s Aerospace Education Hub will bring together three programs — uncrewed aircraft systems, aviation maintenance and advanced composites — in one space to work together, just as they do in industry.

Working with partner companies, students will advance aerospace solutions, and they’ll get valuable facetime with future employers.

“The hub will uniquely advance education, research and economic development for the state,” declared Alysia Starkey, CEO and dean of the Salina Aerospace and Technology Campus. “The aerospace industry continues to grow in its demand for ground-breaking research and well-equipped, job-ready graduates, and K-State Salina is committed to meeting this need.”
