Anderson Hall has always been there for K-Staters. Now it’s our turn to show our iconic landmark some love.

From Kodak moments to today’s selfies, when memories at Kansas State University were captured, there’s one constant: Anderson Hall standing tall in the background.
Its iconic spire has witnessed so much K-State history, from protests to pranks. But it’s those personal moments — graduations, engagements, new babies, new friends — that inspire Wildcats to mark life’s milestones in front of Anderson Hall.
Maybe some of these memories will resonate with you.
“My favorite memory is rolling down the lawn in front of Anderson — so much spontaneous college fun! We recreated the fun experience with our grandchildren while at Grandparents University. We were all pretty dizzy. I didn’t remember being so dizzy in 1970!”
Nancy Gruver Sebelius ’73, ’74
“The Anderson Hall tower is an iconic symbol of the nation’s first operational land-grant school that welcomes all and promises hope and opportunities in and outside the classroom for everyone who enters.”
Pat Bosco ’71, former dean of student life

“Anderson Hall has seen countless students over the years walk in as freshmen with so many questions, only to see those same students a few years later go into the world with a better understanding of life.
It is the same hall that my great-grandfather walked through back in the 1940s. Part of the reason I chose to pursue higher education at K-State was to have some of the same experiences he did.”

“For me, Manhattan and K-State is where I started my family with my wife, Jenna. Our first family photos with our first-born son, Everett, were taken in front of Anderson Hall.
Anderson stands for tradition and history, and this felt like a historical moment for our family. Our journey as a family of three started at K-State in 2019, and we’re preparing for our third child — in 2027 — who will also be a part of the K-State family.”
Spencer O’Daniel, Collegian Media Group director

“Running home to Anderson Lawn on bid day felt like an official welcome to K-State. Taking pictures with my new friends outside of Anderson Hall made me so excited for my future here!”
Emma Blanck, right, current student

“Anderson Hall means so much more to me than just a beautiful place. It holds some of the most special memories of my life. It’s where I got engaged to the person I love, Cody. When I think of Anderson Hall, I think of love, friendship, growth, and some of the people and moments that mean the most to me.”
