Fighting Cancer

K-State alumnus, Eric Stonestreet, supports K-State cancer research.

Many people’s lives have been touched by cancer, including K-State alumnus and actor, Eric Stonestreet. Several members of his family have battled the disease, leading Stonestreet to publicly support the fight against cancer.

Combining his desire to fight cancer with his love of Kansas State University, Stonestreet has invested in the Johnson Cancer Research Center at K-State. His gift will support cancer-detection research, combining two different techniques that are already showing promising results. With Stonestreet’s support, K-State researchers will be able to create a working prototype of their cancer-detection test, enabling them to compete for federal funding to organize clinical trials for the new technology.

“It’s an exciting time in cancer research and I’m proud to be able to contribute in some way to the good work being done at the Johnson Cancer Research Center at K-State,” Stonestreet said. “I encourage all K-Staters to take a look at the research being conducted at K-State through the Johnson Cancer Research Center to help make cancer more detectable, more treatable and more survivable and to support this important work however you can.”
