Innovation and Inspiration Campaign surpasses $1.1 billion

Innovation and Inspiration Campaign surpasses $1.1 billion mark in December.

Kansas State University’s Innovation and Inspiration Campaign has surpassed the $1.1 billion mark in December, making significant progress toward its $1.4 billion goal by 2020.

Led by the KSU Foundation, the Innovation and Inspiration Campaign was launched in October 2015, with an original goal of $1 billion. In April 2017, Kansas State President Richard Myers announced that the campaign’s original goal was exceeded one year ahead of schedule and extended the effort with a new goal of $1.4 billion.

“The continued success and momentum of the Innovation and Inspiration Campaign is rooted in the generosity and commitment of the K-State family to the future of Kansas State University,” Myers said. “We sincerely thank our donors who have invested in K-State faculty, students and programs. Their support is key to the university’s success, now and in the future.”

Funds raised through the campaign will be used to support students, faculty, facility enhancements and program support and will advance the university toward becoming a Top 50 public research university by 2025. Three signature drivers have helped to build momentum during the campaign’s extension period:

•  The land-grant mission of providing an accessible and affordable education to the people of Kansas and beyond.

•  Centers of excellence and interdisciplinary programs — areas where Kansas State University has a competitive advantage and the potential to change the world.

•  Substantially increasing the endowment for the future of Kansas State University through estate-planning gifts.

“It’s not often that a university has the ability to exceed fundraising goals as rapidly as Kansas State University has with the Innovation and Inspiration Campaign,” KSU Foundation President and CEO Greg Willems said. “We continue to set ambitious goals and the K-State family continues to step up to ensure the future of this great university. The generosity of K-State donors is redefining the university’s future, and it will be exciting to see this campaign through to its conclusion in 2020.”

As Kansas State University’s strategic partner for philanthropy, the KSU Foundation inspires and guides philanthropy toward university priorities to boldly advance K-State family. The foundation is leading Innovation and Inspiration: The Campaign for Kansas State University to raise $1.4 billion for student success, faculty development, facility enhancement and programmatic success.
