Kansas State University’s Innovation and Inspiration Campaign surpasses $1.4 billion

Thanks to the generosity of K-State family, the Innovation and Inspiration Campaign surpassed $1.4 billion in May.

Innovation and Inspiration: The Campaign for Kansas State University has exceeded the fundraising target of $1.4 billion. The campaign, which surpassed its original $1 billion goal in April 2017, will continue to raise funds for K-State priorities until its scheduled end on June 30, 2020.

“The Innovation and Inspiration Campaign’s continued success is a testament to the generosity of K-State alumni and friends and their belief in the future of Kansas State University,” said K-State President Richard Myers. “Funds raised through this campaign are an investment in the success of K-State faculty, students and programs and help ensure a bright future for the university and the state.”

Funds raised through the campaign will be used to support students, faculty, facility enhancements and program support and will advance the university toward becoming a top 50 public research university by 2025. Three signature drivers have helped to build momentum during the campaign:

  • The land-grant mission of providing an accessible and affordable education to the people of Kansas and beyond.
  • Centers of excellence and interdisciplinary programs — areas where Kansas State University has a competitive advantage and the potential to change the world.
  • Substantially increasing the endowment for the future of Kansas State University through estate-planning gifts.

“The remarkable generosity of the K-State family continues to ensure the vitality of this great university. The fact that people continue to come forward after these many years, wanting to give, is really quite rare,” said KSU Foundation President and CEO Greg Willems. “The continued success of the Innovation and Inspiration Campaign supports the university now and provides opportunities and stability for the future. I’m amazed and inspired by the philanthropic spirit of K-Staters who continuously support the university.”

As Kansas State University’s strategic partner for philanthropy, the KSU Foundation inspires and guides philanthropy toward university priorities to boldly advance K-State family. The foundation is leading Innovation and Inspiration: The Campaign for Kansas State University to raise $1.4 billion for student success, faculty development, facility enhancement and programmatic success.
