Student Opportunity Awards

When you’re in trouble — an apartment fire, a barely-there bank account or another challenge — your fellow K-State students have got your back.

professional development: Student Opportunity Awards

Proud to be a K-Stater

Student Opportunity Awards, funded by students through the K-State Proud campaign, have delivered more than $1.4 million to students in need.

A track record to be proud of

More than 900 students have been helped so far — and the number keeps growing.

Student Opportunity Awards give financial assistance to K-Staters who demonstrate extreme financial need or who need temporary financial assistance. Special consideration is given to students whose future at K-State may be in jeopardy and to students who have exhausted all other forms of financial assistance.

A student allocations committee, in consultation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance, reviews applications weekly and makes awards year-round.

Students and faculty members are encouraged to nominate students in need. Or students may nominate themselves.
