What a difference a day makes

Celebrating another ‘wildly’ successful — and record-breaking — Day of Giving.

K-State Day of Giving in April showed that where there’s a need, there’s a Wildcat — lots of Wildcats.

In just 24 hours, 2,737 faithful K-Staters stepped forward to support the university to the tune of $7.5 million!

We’re talking:

• $1,110,224 for Anderson Hall renovations

• $16,053 for K-State Extension to improve communities statewide

• $51,832 to relieve financial emergencies for graduate students

• And millions more toward 456 other funds advancing academic excellence, game-changing research, student success and more

Donors more than doubled the dollars raised by 2025’s event, which drew $3.4 million from 1,614 participants.

This year’s celebration dialed up the fun, too, with a chance to name a campus squirrel for $18.63. In all, 1,246 squirrel names — ranging from Collin Climb and Ayoka Tree to Sir Shellen’Burglar the Squirrely and Spry Grain Thief — raised $221,850.

All hail the power of purple! K-Staters continue to set the standard when it comes to  banding together for a shared purpose.

LET’S BREAK IT DOWN

Most raised: $2,280,111 for the College of Business

Most donors: 326 for the College of Arts and Sciences

Most donors for a student organization: 173 for On the Spot Improv
